A SECRET meeting of eight first-class rugby union clubs - four from England and four from Wales - could lead to an Anglo-Welsh super league.

The clubs represented at the meeting, held in Tewkesbury, were Cardiff, Llanelli, Neath and Swansea from Wales and Bath, Leicester, Harlequins and Wasps from England.

While the clubs agreed to avoid confrontation with the authorities in their countries, they seem determined to go it alone if they meet opposition.
