Snoop Dogg announces intention to lead Twitter: 'First order of Business! Get that Moolah'
Artist's announcement was greeted with delight online following Dick Costolo's resignation
Snoop Dogg has announced he is ready to lead Twitter following the sudden departure of CEO Dick Costolo.
The rapper and singer – probably best known for his affection for a certain herbal plant – aptly made the announcement on Twitter last night.
Snoop also announced that the first order of business would be to “get that moolah!”
Costolo, who has been Twitter’s CEO since 2010, will step down from the position on 1 July.
He was caught out earlier his year when an internal memo was leaked in which he admitted his organisation “sucked” at dealing with trolls and online abuse, and that “we’ve sucked at it for years.”
Meanwhile, the 43-year-old artist’s announcement was greeted with glee by online social media users.
Taking to Twitter, they quickly suggested the many ways in which Snoop would improve the online platform under the hashtags ‘#ifSnoopWasTwitterCEO’ and ‘#SnoopforCEO’.
