Oprah Joins T.D. Jakes To Discuss Her Thoughts On The Presidential Election

The current US presidential race has been one of the most acrimonious, divisive and fierce in history with each debate taking a toxic turn and the two candidates even roasting each other at the Al Smith annual dinner this week.

Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have vocal supporters at rallies, on social media and in the public eye yet there are still, an albeit, small section of American voters who remain undecided – currently estimated to be eight per cent according to an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll – as to who to vote for on November 8th.

Oprah Winfrey, who is backing Clinton for the White House, has given her advice to those who are undecided or those who are not sure who to rally behind on the basis that they say they do not like Ms Clinton.

“There really is no choice people, all the people who sit around saying they can't decide,” the media mogul said on The T.D Jakes Show. “Here’s what I want to say: I hear these conversations all the time where people say, ‘I just don’t know if I like her’.

“She’s not coming over [to] your house, you don’t have to like her. Do you like this country? You better get out there and vote […] Do you like freedom and liberty? Do you like democracy or do you want a demagogue? Ok, there you go,” she said, without mentioning Mr Trump by name.

Winfrey said she has previously refrained from encouraging people to vote for Ms Clinton because she felt she would not be heard through the “disgusting vitriol” and “noise” which has plagued the current race for office.
