Obituary: Wolfman Jack

There was a brief period when Wolfman Jack's throaty roar was audible in London, c1972-74. Not via some megawatt transmitter in Mexico, but courtesy of American Forces Network broadcasts from Germany. I fondly remember a group of us gathering once a week in the kitchen to hear this link with an alien, and by this time fading, culture. No doubt in the US such radio DJs were commonplace, but none of us had ever heard anything like it, and it was thrilling.
