With injunctions, super-injunctions, libel, the Arab Spring, Twitter privacy and Google in China all high on the public agenda, the issue of Free Speech – and its limits – has never been more pertinent.

On July 5th at The Royal Institution on Albemarle Street, W1, five fantastic speakers give their perspectives on and around the issue of free speech, unscripted and against the clock.

Watch videos of the speeches from the inaugural event.

The event will feature talks by Johann Hari, Max Mosley, Ruby Wax, Evgeny Lebedev and Charlotte Harris.

Brought to you by the Independent newspaper and 5x15, this event seeks to shed some light onto the thorniest issue of the day over the course of a convivial evening.

5x15 is an innovative format that features 5 speakers talking about their ideas and passions in – as the name suggests – 15 minutes. For this special Independent Voices 5x15, people who have been involved in the conversation about Free Speech take to the stage telling their stories and setting out their diverse positions.
