The £8 million investment will see furniture, electrical and home goods sold in the so-called John Lewis At Home programme, which started with a store in Poole in 2009.
Andy Street, managing director of John Lewis, said: "We continue to believe that there is a strong opportunity to grow our business in the home and electricals sector and are delighted to be bringing a John Lewis At Home to Newbury town centre."
