Microsoft has called in the FBI after hackers broke into the company's computers. A spokesman called it "a deplorable act of industrial espionage."

The company believes it has now halted the security breaches, which occurred oiver the past few days.

A company spokesman would not detail what areas of the network were breached.

One reports said the investigations were studying e-mails to an account in St Petersburg, Russia.
