Adoboli denies all charges in City's biggest fraud trial
Kweku Adoboli, the banker accused of gambling away £1.5bn in the City's biggest fraud, yesterday denied the charges.
Mr Adoboli, 31, was working for UBS, the Swiss investment bank, when he allegedly lost the money in a series of unauthorised deals.
Appearing at Southwark crown court yesterday, he denied two counts of fraud and two of false accounting between October 2008 and last September.
His trial is scheduled to begin in September, by which time he will have been in custody for nearly a year. A court previously ruled he was a flight risk and may have tried to contact witnesses in a potential trial.
Mr Adoboli worked for UBS's global synthetic equities division.
