THE FINANCIAL Times Group, a division of Pearson, the international media company, yesterday said it had sold its Extel financial information business for pounds 19m to Primark, the US financial information supplier which owns Datastream. The FT Group said that Extel's research division, which is known as a leading supplier of fundamental data on more than 15,000 companies, lacked the "global, comprehensive data" its customers now demand.
