Delay feared for coal sale
THE Government's failure to publish its report on the privatisation of British Coal before the parliamentary recess is prompting fears that the planned sale of the industry may be delayed. The hold-up is believed to have resulted from British Coal's inability to agree crucial supply contracts with the electricity generating companies. Private bidders are not coming forward until these agreements are signed.
