Year to 30 September

Faber Prest, the shipping and transport group, made profits of pounds 5m ( pounds 4.8m). Final dividend is 9p, making 14p (12p).

Electronic Data Processing, computer systems group, made profits of pounds 4.7m ( pounds 4.9m). Final of 3.5p, total 5.5p (5.1p).

Six months to 30 September

Acal, the electronic controls concern, made pre-tax profits of pounds 1.3m against pounds 1.33m. Interim dividend is 2.25p (2.1p).

Marling Industrial, textiles company, lifted pre-tax profits to pounds 910,000 from pounds 659,000. Interim dividend 0.2p (nil).

East Surrey Hdgs, water supply group, made pounds 3.1m profits ( pounds 2.9m). Interim 4.43p (4.1p).

Leigh Interests, environmental services, made profits of pounds 5.1m ( pounds 4.1m). No dividend.

Avesco, the broadcasting equipment group, made pre- tax losses of pounds 2.25m (profit pounds 23,000). No interim dividend.

Vega Group, the space system consultant, lifted pre-tax profits to pounds 757,000 from pounds 404,000 for the six months ended 31 October. The interim dividend is raised from 0.87p to 1.4p.

API Group, paper to air conditioning group, pre-tax profits pounds 5.4m ( pounds 3.8m) for year ended 28 September. Final dividend 4.9p, total 8.25p (7.5p).

De Morgan Group, property company, returned to pre-tax profits of pounds 24,000 for the six months ended 31 October against pounds 131,000 loss. No interim dividend.

DC Cook Holdings, the motor trader, made pre-tax profits of pounds 1.01m for the half-year ended 31 October against pounds 144,000 loss last time. There is a 0.3p interim (nil).

Hadleigh Group, transport engineer, returned to profits of pounds 332,000 in the six months to 1 October from pounds 357,000 losses. Interim is 0.5p (nil).
