US STOCKS fell, led by Intel and 3Com, on concerns that waning demand and increased competition will hurt profits in the computer and networking industries. The Dow Jones index fell 27.17 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 9,297.61.
"People got overly optimistic about personal computer sales in the first quarter,'' said one trader.
The high-tech Nasdaq index fell 36.15, or 1.6 per cent, to 2,259.03, led by Intel, in late trading.
