Band jailed for Nazi salute
Three Americans jailed for a month for violating Sweden's hate laws by giving Nazi salutes during a rock concert said prison and hometown notoriety won't change their racist views. Shawn Sugg, 30, of Otter Lake, Michigan, said yesterday: "The prosecutor tried to make me look like some evil guy, but I'm just a singer in the band."
The Michigan-based group Max Resist appeared at a concert outside Stockholm on 3 January. Police arrested about two dozen fans and band members after some began shouting Sieg Heil. Also convicted were guitarist Andrew Miokovic, 21; Eric Dobbs, 23, of San Diego, California, a fan and Swedish resident; and Danielle Reda, 26, from Michigan.
