A father has shared his trick to helping his baby daughter fall asleep – and a video of the hack has gone viral.

On Facebook, Austin Miles Geter shared a short video of him holding his newborn, Charlie.

Geter, who is from Dallas, explained that he had heard about a simple trick that can help send infants to sleep.

In order for the trick to work, you simply have to gently rub the baby’s eyebrows, and apparently this will send them into a very deep slumber.

“So here we are, she keeps crying because I keep having to change positions but I know she’s sleepy,” Geter says.

“But I heard if you gently rub their eyebrows they go to sleep.

“So I’m going to try it.”

In the clip, Geter begins to rub Charlie’s eyebrows and she slowly starts to drift off.

Within a matter of seconds, Charlie falls fast asleep.

Since sharing his video on 26 August, Geter has amassed more than one million views.

Many viewers have since commented below the video to share that they also tried the trick on their infants and it worked.

“She is so cute, and I rubbed all three of my boys’ eyebrows and it worked on them,” wrote one person.

“Tried it on my youngest and it worked, also loved between the eyebrows and down nose,” added another.
