VERUSCHKA, the Teutonic Venus of Sixties modelling, who now keeps a low profile under her real name of Vera Lehndorff, made a surprise appearance at the menswear shows. Since quitting modelling - her high-point was as the model in Antonioni's Blow Up - Vera has spent plenty of time fading into walls, as an artist who used herself as a canvas. But latterly, aged 50-plus, she's been modelling again, principally for the photographer Steven Meisel.

Still, nobody expected to see her on the catwalk at Dirk Bikkembergs's show, in the bowels of an underground car-park in Paris, somewhere near the Gare de L'Est. It took a while for the audience to catch on that the goddess of fashion modelling was among them - after all, even Veruschka looks a little different from how she did in 1966. But she strode purposefully along in Bikkembergs's dark easy pieces, proving that even age cannot wither a truly great model.
