Take That’s Howard Donald says he’s ‘open-minded’ about sexuality: ‘Maybe I should be pansexual’

‘I've looked at men before and thought, ‘Oh yeah, I fancy him, he's a good-looking guy.’

Take That’s Howard Donald has spoken about his sexuality, saying that he is “open-minded” when it comes to being attracted to both men and women.

Speaking to his fans in an Instagram Live video, the 50-year-old singer told his fans that he “fancies” both genders and thinks he “should” be pansexual.

The term “pansexual” can be understood as a sexual identity used to describe being attracted to people of all genders, beyond male-female parameters. This can include those who identify as transgender, non-binary, intersex and more.

In the video, Howard continued: “Christine And The Queens, she's a pansexual, I've read. Pansexual sounds good. Maybe I should be pansexual.”

“And let's face it, women look at other women sometimes and think, ‘Ooh yeah, she's tasty, I fancy her’.”

“I've looked at men before and thought, ‘Oh yeah, I fancy him, he's a good-looking guy. I wish I looked like that’.”

The British star has been married to Katie Halil since 2015 and is father to sons Bowie, and Dougie with his wife, as well as daughters Grace and Lola from previous relationships.

While Donald reveals he has been attracted to men and women over the years, he said he is happily married with Halil.

“You can still be attracted to men and still be attracted to women . . . as well as women, sorry. But I'm happy with my wife, anyway. But I'm just saying, I'm very open-minded when it comes to that,” he added.

Singer Héloïse Letissier, known professionally as Christine and the Queens or more recently Chris, has spoken openly about her pansexuality.

She previously told the BBC: "It means that I can fall in love with someone regardless of their gender, regardless of how they define themselves.

"I don’t really see that as an obstacle, as a definition."

In 2016, singer Miley Cyrus – who this weekend will perform at 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards – has also opened up about finding it difficult to understand her gender and sexuality over the years.

“Who I’m with has nothing to do with sex — I’m super open, pansexual, that’s just me,” she told Billboard in 2017.

"I always get in trouble for ­generalising straight men, ’cause straight men can be my worst nightmare ­sometimes. And I’m with a straight dude,” the star, who is now marrieds to actor Liam Hemsworth, explained. “But he’s always like, ‘Well, don’t call me that!'”

Speaking of gender, she added: "I just don’t feel like a girl, and I don’t feel like a boy. I just feel like nothing."
