Céline Dion lands her first-ever beauty contract with L'Oréal Paris

'When you think I’m done, I’m just starting'

Céline Dion is L’Oreal Paris' newest global spokesperson.

On Tuesday, the French personal care company announce the five-time Grammy award winner had become a global ambassador.

Speaking of her appointment to the brand, Dion says: “I never saw that coming, especially at 51 years old.

“Considering that L’Oréal Paris gives women plenty of tools to feel good, to feel strong, to have a voice, to fulfil themselves and to feel worth it, I was honoured to become a global ambassador for the brand and represent women all around the world.”

Dion will join the likes of Dame Helen Mirren, Jane Fonda, Amber Heard and Duckie Thot in her role as spokeswoman, making her debut appearance in the upcoming L'Oréal Paris Excellence Hair Colour campaign.

A television advert for the brand’s Excellence Hair Colour featuring the 51-year-old singer will debut on 22 April.

The mother-of-three says she hopes she can encourage women to realise their dreams and feel beautiful.

“I want everyone to feel that they have the right to express themselves, whether it is through fashion and beauty, by using their voice or through something else that’s important to them,” Dion explains.

“The world is changing, and L’Oréal Paris is part of that in a positive way since the brand is telling women that there is nothing wrong in realizing their dreams and speaking their mind. I hope that I can elevate this conversation.”

The My Heart Will Go On singer, who has sold more than 245 million albums worldwide, also opened up about her age, saying that she feels more confident now than ever before.

“I feel so good now that I don’t even want to think about my 20s or 30s, when I was still discovering myself,” she reveals.

“For the last couple of years, I have grown in a very strong and happy way through my passions, my work, friendship, motherhood. I am now embracing myself and feel free to do what I want, where I want, when I want.

“I’ve never felt so beautiful, strong, and I feel that the best is yet to come. Today is the beginning of the rest of my life and I don’t want to go back in time, I am going forward.”

Dion’s appointment at L’Oréal marks a new chapter in her career, as her long-standing Las Vegas residency comes to an end this June.

But, Dion says there is still so much more to come, revealing she is also releasing a new English album and going on tour.

“When you think I’m done, I’m just starting," she says.

“My association with L'Oréal Paris is the beginning of a new amazing journey for me.”
