The Programme, week 3: Trainer's comments on Rachel

Neil Price: A good week for Rachel, managing a couple of runs, yoga and the cardio circuit from last week. Rachel finds jogging easier than the higher intensity intervals, but managed to do one interval session nevertheless. These intervals will have a greater impact on her fitness than easier jogging sessions.

Rachel?s body fat has dropped 2.5 per cent since the start of The Programme, which is very encouraging and should help to keep her focused next week, when her teacher training commitments will not leave much time for exercise. Rachel?s muscular endurance has also improved dramatically. She can now perform 15 perfect pressups and 62 perfect ab curls, compared to 6 and 27 reps respectively at the start.

Rachel needs to spend more time on flexibility, however, as there has been little improvement in that area so far. Time will tell how Rachel performs next week when the pressure is on.
