The Bradford striker Stan Collymore looks almost certain to escape a Football Association disrepute charge following Sunday's Yorkshire derby draw with Leeds United.

Collymore crowned his Bantams debut by scoring a spectacular goal which he celebrated in front of the Leeds supporters. The 29-year-old forward, a free transfer from Leicester City, had been barracked before his goal, but his response - with the FA's compliance officer, Graham Bean, in attendance - enraged the home fans. The FA is awaiting Lodge's report and will make no decision on Collymore until today, although it is understood he will not be punished.

Collymore, the former Aston Villa, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest striker, tried to find the Sky TV presenter Richard Keys after the match to complain about an article Keys had written about him at the weekend. However, Collymore was told by stewards that Keys had left the ground.

The Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has dismissed the Scottish midfielder Jamie Fullarton after a disagreement over tactics.

The Scotland captain Colin Hendry had held talks with the Coventry City manager Gordon Strachan after being dropped to fifth-choice centre-half at the Highfield Road club.
