Ash Ketchum might have had to deal with the pesky Team Rocket, but at least server problems were never an issue.

Would-be Pokémon GO users are struggling to get on the app for the third day straight, with many being met following sign-in with a message saying: "Our servers are experiencing issues. Please come back later."

To make matters worse, when you reboot the app it makes you go through the whole email-and-password sign-in process again.

This would be forgivable on the day of launch, but the problem is still occurring for a hell of a lot of users three days in.

It's all down to the game's immense popularity. Pokémon has always been a very buzzy franchise, but with the added augmented reality aspect it's attracted droves of fans - nostalgists and new.

"Due to the incredible number of #PokemonGO downloads, some Trainers may experience sign-up difficulties" the developers tweeted. "Don’t worry, our team is on it!"

Hilariously, police in Australia were forced to weigh in on Pokémon GO a couple of days ago, after people kept trying to get into the Darwin police station to catch a Sandshrew.
