Buzz has been building for weeks on hip hop/electro artist Theophilus London's debut album, Timez Are Weird These Days. The album released on July 19 and is streaming in full at Spin.com.
The Brooklyn-based MC reportedly caused a stir after his performance at this year's Cannes Film Festival, and bloggers and critics have been pegging him as one to watch.
He recently released a new animated video for the song "Girls, Girls $," and the album's lead track, "I Stand Alone," is featured in a new trailer for the second season of HBO series How To Make It in America.
"If you made a hipster-rap bonus baby in a laboratory, you couldn't do much better than Theophilus London," writes Rolling Stone. "The 23-year-old Trinidad-born Brooklyn MC's neo-retro hip-hop mashes up TV on the Radio's vocal cadences, old-school break-dance beats and the forlorn melodic tug of a Smiths fan (he dropped This Charming Mixtape in 2009)."
