Kanye West might be known for his tendency towards verbosity, but he kept it short and sweet at last night’s Webby Awards.

Often described as the Oscars for online, a Webby is an award for excellence on the internet, and unsurprisingly Kanye scooped Artist of the Year thanks to his thoroughly disruptive, unpredictable and ingenious social media-driven promotional campaign for new album The Life of Pablo.

His acceptance speech came via iPhone video with a decent gag (even if he annoyingly didn’t remember to turn his phone to landscape mode):

The video intro to the speech was really very well put together, a glitchy montage of the tweets he fired out over a period of months that stopped the internet in its tracks and ramped up excitement for the album.
