Tory Lanez has spoken out about his feelings towards Megan Thee Stallion after being charged with shooting her.

He addressed the allegations made against him during an Instagram Live video posted on Tuesday night (20 October).

Lanez, a Canadian rapper, is accused of shooting at Megan Thee Stallion’s feet, after she exited a car during a fight in the Hollywood Hills on 12 July.

In the new clip, Lanez said: “For the last three months of my life, I’ve just been in this place where I’ve been bashed, I’ve been cut through. Just people every single day just coming at me, coming at me, coming at me.”

He addressed Megan’s claims against him, calling them “not true”. He said her allegations are “falsified information, it’s false information, and it’s not accurate information”.

Lanez – real name Daystar Peterson – went on to say that he still think of Megan as a “friend” following the “debacle”.

“I don’t ever wanna come off like I’m here to bash this girl or I’m here to talk down about this girl or ever be at a place where, like, I’m disrespecting her,” he said. “Because to me, as a person, she’s still my friend.”

He added: “No matter what, even if she doesn’t look at me like that – I look at her like she’s still my friend.”

Megan appeared to respond to Lanez’s video in a Twitter post that read: “This n**** genuinely crazy.”

Many Twitter users also took issue with Lanez’s video, noting that the rapper never once specifically denied shooting Megan despite the lengthy attempt to clear his name.

One user wrote: “Tory Lanez has said everything but ‘I did not shoot her’ he’s literally just going in circles trying to make her look like a liar, trying to make her look bad but won’t say he did not do it lol.”

Earlier this month, Los Angeles prosecutors confirmed they had given Lanez two felony charges: assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

Lanez has strongly denied all allegations. He tweeted on 9 October that “time will tell” and “the truth will come to light” over what happened. “A charge is not a conviction,” he tweeted.

If convicted, Lanez faces a maximum sentence of roughly 23 years.
