Billie Eilish has said she is “so f***ing angry” and called for justice over the killing of Rayshard Brooks.

Brooks was shot and killed in a confrontation with Atlanta police on Friday 12 June, after being found sleeping inside his own car in the drive-through lane of a Wendy’s restaurant.

“Man F***,” wrote the singer in an Instagram post, alongside a photo of Brooks. “watching this video made me so f***ing angry.”

“F*** THIS S***. JUSTICE FOR RAYSHARD BROOKS. F*** THIS S***. #justiceforrayshard !!! WHY ISNT EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT THIS??”

Eilish’s brother and collaborator Finneas O’Connell also posted about Brooks’ death, writing: “This is so f***ed up man. And such a good example of EXACTLY what’s so f***ed up about the police in America.

“Asleep in his car in a parking lot. Shot to death. Don’t let yourself be numb to this. Don’t let the world stay this way.”

Among the countless others to voice their dismay and anger over the shooting is Run the Jewels rapper Killer Mike, who said he is “saddened beyond consolation.”

“#RayshardBrooks should be alive this morning,” he wrote.

US police have been criticised for systemic racism and brutality, with Black Lives Matter protests being held worldwide following the death of George Floyd while being apprehended by Minneapolis police.

Eilish has previously voiced her support for the Black Lives Matter movement on social media, writing: “If all lives matter, why are black people killed for just being black?”
