On September 20, MTV revealed the nominations for the 2010 Europe Music Awards, set to air internationally on November 7. Lady Gaga and Katy Perry lead with five nods each, while Perry and Linkin Park have so far been confirmed to perform at the ceremony.

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry will compete in the categories of Best Pop, Best Female, and Best Song, going up against Rihanna in all three categories. Gaga also gets a nod for Best Live Act and Perry for Best World Stage Performance, and both will compete for Best Video.

Rapper Eminem earned nominations in four categories, including Best Song, Best Male, and Best Video for his Rihanna collaboration "Love the Way You Lie."

Other nominees include Muse, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park, Kings of Leon, and Ozzy Osbourne, all competing for Best Rock, while Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, B.o.B, Plan B, and Jason Derulo will vie for Best New Act.

Through November 4, fans are invited to vote online for winners in most categories. Voting is also currently open, through October 18, for the category of Best Regional Act, which includes dozens of entries from around the continent. Regional winners will enter the shortlist for Best European Act, the winner of which will be announced online during the MTV EMA ceremony.

The awards ceremony will take place on November 7 at Madrid's Caja Magica and be broadcast live by MTV in more than 40 countries in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
