Letters: Perils of speed

Sir: A comprehensive car insurance policy will pay a driver for damages to his car and to himself when he is involved in an accident, even if he has broken the law by speeding. Regardless of who is at fault, if it is made illegal to pay out comprehensive insurance to a driver who was speeding, then they will have a good incentive to obey speed limits. This would not, of course, affect payouts under third-party claims for damage.
