Letter: Shipbuilding pride
Sir: Your account of the restoration of the City of Adelaide ("World's oldest clipper saved from a watery grave", 19 November) should have stated that she was built at Sunderland. William Pile (1823-1873) built her and about 200 other vessels. Those of us concerned with the history of North-east shipbuilding are grateful to the Scottish Maritime Museum for the preservation of this fine example of Wearside industry.
