Sir: I believe that Mr Bacon has taken the wrong property of quantum leaps for his argument (letter, 17 August). The point about quantum leaps is that there are no intermediate stopping points - you just have to go from one point to another in one go. Applied to the English cricket team, this means a new team, not fiddling about changing one player at a time.
