The South Bank's newest culinary star, The County Hall Restaurant, opened in mid-July with one of London's strongest teams of chefs at the helm.

The restaurant's menus focus on innovative, modern British cuisine with an emphasis on seasonality. The 150-seat restaurant has impressively high ceilings and a long wall of windows affording stunning views of the Thames, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Bridge. The decor is simple, elegant and comfortable, with a changing series of large paintings on loan from the nearby Hayward Gallery.

The set lunch menu, available from noon until 7pm, is pounds 12.50 for one course, pounds 16.50 for two courses and pounds 19.50 for three courses, and a set dinner menu, available from 7pm to 11pm, is pounds 19.50 for three courses. The restaurant's internal bar is open for cocktails and wine throughout the day.

We have three meals for two to give away, up to the value of pounds 60 for each pair. For a chance to win, send your name and address on a postcard to: The County Hall Restaurant Offer, Network London, Mason's Yard, 34 High Street, Wimbledon Village, London SW19 5BY by 22 January 1999. The first three cards pulled from the bag will win.
