This snappy British thriller from J Blakeson, a first-time writer-director, is a craftily engineered piece of work.

It stars Gemma Arterton as a rich young woman, and Eddie Marsan and Martin Compston as the two men who kidnap her...and it doesn't star anyone else – no police, no news reporters, no bystanders – and most of it set in a one-bedroom flat, all without seeming too contrived or stagey. An impressive calling card.
