Rita Ora is tipped to perform at the star-studded Oscars ceremony next month, after her a track she sings on was nominated for Best Original Song.

The British singer put down the vocals for “Grateful” from romantic drama Beyond the Lights, which made the cut for the Academy Awards shortlist.

Songwriter Dianne Warren (who incidentally wrote Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”) seemed to confirm that Ora would take to the Hollywood stage while discussing her disappointment at the song’s lack of mainstream marketing.

“I was like, are you kidding me?” the seven-time Oscar nominee told Vanity Fair. “Rita’s never sung this good, it’s a total hit song, it’s a mass appeal hit record, what the f**k?

“I hope they’re waking up today, saying ‘Oh, maybe we should put this out as a single’. Maybe when she sings for 3 billion people on the stage at the Oscars…”

“Grateful” will compete with “Everything is Awesome” from The Lego Movie, “Lost Stars” from Begin Again, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” from Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me and the Golden Globe-winning “Glory” from Selma.

The Oscars race is led by Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel, both of which are nominated in nine categories.

Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, the ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on 22 February. As of yet there has been no official confirmation of performers.
