Wes Anderson triumphed at the Golden Globes tonight by beating favourite Birdman to the best motion picture (comedy or musical) award with The Grand Budapest Hotel.
While Birdman missed out on the film prize, its lead star Michael Keaton triumphed in the best actor (comedy or musical), seeing off competition from The Grand Budapest Hotel's Ralph Fiennes, Big Eyes' Christoph Waltz, St Vincent's Bill Murray and Inherent Vice's Joaquin Phoenix.

It is Keaton's first Golden Globe, while his first nomination came in 2003 for his TV performance in Live From Baghdad.
Amy Adams took home the best actress (comedy or musical) gong for her role as US artist Margaret Keane in Tim Burton's Big Eyes, beating Into the Woods' Emily Blunt, The Hundred-Foot Journey's Helen Mirren, Annie's Quvenzhane Wallis and Maps to the Stars' Julianne Moore, who won best actress (drama) for Still Alice.
