A chronicle of John Lennon's childhood, Nowhere Boy features Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson in the title role and Kristin Scott Thomas as his Aunt Mimi.
The film's first trailer shows Lennon as a troubled teen, circa 1955, searching for answers, finding his mother and discovering rock'n'roll. It also offers a glimpse at his fledgling band with Paul McCartney performing.
The film premiered as the closing night of the London Film Festival, received four BAFTA Film Award nominations after its UK release, and was screened at 2010 Sundance.
It opens in the US October 8 and rolls out around the world through the year.
