Comedy stars shared some laughs and tips at the London Evening Standard Film awards on Monday night.

Among the first to arrive at the London Film Museum, writer Armando Iannucci chatted to his long-time collaborator Steve Coogan before picking up the best screenplay award for his political satire In the Loop. After Sacha Baron Cohen received the Peter Sellers award for best comedy for Bruno from Terry Gilliam, whose Monty Python he hailed as a great inspiration, the pair chatted about how to make the perfect comedy film.

Jaime Winstone and Alfie Allen made a glamorous couple, and were photographed as they wandered through the museum's Chaplin exhibition. Injecting more glamour into the night's proceedings, with her elegant 1920s look, was Eva Green, who wore a stunning black dress with the flapper-style haircut and orange lipstick to complement it. Her black-and-yellow striped heels were the Bond actress's trademark stamp of eccentricity.

Chris Martin caught up with roadie-turned-film-maker Sacha Gervasi, who made the winning documentary Anvil!, about the Canadian heavy-metal act who are still trying to make it in their 50s. The most unexpected guest was Sarah Brown, there to support her brother Sean Macaulay who was creative consultant on Anvil! Although she had to leave straight after the awards to attend another engagement, the next day she was tweeting enthusiastically about her brother's win.

Looking very couple-y, James McAvoy and a pregnant Anne-Marie Duff, who scooped the best actress award, mingled with the crowd together, enjoying one drink before heading home for an early night.
