As release schedules flex to let in summer's event movies, Robert Redford's festival carries a torch for independent film in its second London incarnation.

Hits from Salt Lake City's Sundance range from the HIV documentary Blood Brother to Lake Bell's winning feature debut In a World...; the music strand, meanwhile, reverberates to films about the Eagles, Muscle Shoals and Peaches, who will also perform.

British Sea Power are on hand to strengthen UK ties, as are homegrown offerings such as taut thriller In Fear, porn-y biopic The Look of Love and farm-set documentary heart-warmer The Moo Man, a film not likely to be confused with Iron Man 3.
