Light Up Christmas Town centre, Woolwich (0181-312 5885) today, 4pm, free

The streets of Woolwich get a touch of Christmas spirit when Emergency Exit Arts put on a lantern parade through the town centre. The Crocodile Style Street Band will lead the parade from Hare Street. This will culminate in acrobatics and a firework finale.

Bedazzled Bodies and Bones Museum of London, London Wall, EC2 (0171-600 3699) tomorrow, 2.30pm and 3.30pm, adults pounds 5, children pounds 3

A collection of light-hearted stories to tie in with the museum's new exhibition about bodies. At 1pm, an actor/interpreter will be explaining what life was like in Roman London.

Free Stage Barbican Centre, Silk Street, EC2 (0171-382 7272) today 5.30pm, tomorrow 12.30pm, free

Most weekends the Barbican has free musical events which are very popular with families. This afternoon it's Finality Jack, a trio playing jigs and reels, and tomorrow lunchtime it's Balangandan Afro-Latin jazz. Make a day of it and combine this with a trip to the Museum of London just up the road.

Museum of Collectors The Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, Bargehouse Street, SE1 (0171-401 2255) today and tomorrow, 12noon-7.30pm (every weekend and some weekdays until March) free

More than 40 often bizarre collections from around the world (below), including snowstorms, trolls, postcards of zoos and snails - with live specimens.
