NFL Draft 2020: Cincinnati Bengals take Joe Burrow with first overall pick
The 23-year-old joins up with the Bengals who earned the top pick in this year’s draft after a deeply disappointing 2-14 record last season
The Cincinnati Bengals have selected quarterback Joe Burrow with the first pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Ohio native Burrow makes the jump to the pros after a stellar college career at LSU which culminated in a national title earlier this year.
The 23-year-old joins up with the Bengals who earned the top pick in this year’s draft after a deeply disappointing 2-14 record last season.
Veteran starter Andy Dalton remains on the roster but Burrow is widely expected to take over as the team’s starting quarterback for the 2020 season, whenever that may be.
The draft, as with everything else in the sporting world, has been hugely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
All 32 teams have been forced to make selections remotely rather than in Las Vegas where the showpiece event was set to be hosted.
Cincinnati will hope to add some weapons for Burrow when the draft continues with the second round all the way through to the seventh being completed on Friday and Saturday.
