World Cup winner Carli Lloyd has reiterated her desire to become a kicker in the NFL.

The United States international proved her potential recently at a Philadelphia Eagles practice in August.

And the USWNT striker drilled a 55-yard kick between the posts, leading to speculation Lloyd could become the first woman to compete in the NFL.

And while Lloyd admits she would need to adjust her kicking technique, she remains keen to try.

“I want to try it,” Lloyd said on the Laughter Permitted podcast alongside former USA international Julie Foudy.

“I want to put a helmet on, I want to put pads on, I want to kick with two steps. And then see from there.”

Lloyd then revealed two NFL teams had made a request for her to take part in a pre-season game, but other commitments prevented her from accepting.

The 37-year-old maintains she still has a few years left with the USWNT, but hopes there is the possibility to be ”loaned out a bit for a couple preseason NFL games”.
