Brooklyn shooting: Four dead and three injured in attack at 'social club'

New York City police say four people were killed in a shooting in Brooklyn. Three others have been injured.

An NYPD spokesman says police responded to call at 7am on Saturday in the Crown Heights neighbourhood of Brooklyn, at an address corresponding with a "social club."

Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said they found four men dead at the scene.

A woman and two men suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Another person was injured while fleeing the scene.

The victims, who have not been identified, ranged in age from 32 to 49, Detective Shea told reporters.

Police say an unlicensed gambling operation was taking place at the scene. There had been no previous complaints about the location.

The shooting took place two blocks away from a police station, on a block shared with renovated townhouses and empty storefronts.

No arrests have been made. Police do not yet have a motive.
