Felicity Jones is pregnant with her first child, a representative for the actor has confirmed.

The On the Basis of Sex star has been married to director Charles Guard for one year.

News that the couple were expecting a child together was confirmed to People on Wednesday.

The revelation comes shortly after Jones attended the premiere for her upcoming film, The Aeronauts, in New York.

At the event, Jones wore a floor-length black velvet gown with white bows on the chest.

Guard and Jones met in 2015 and tied the knot three years later at a private ceremony in Sudeley Castle, Oxfordshire.

While the 36-year-old has largely kept her personal life out of the press, she has previously spoken about having children.

In 2016, Jones told Harper’s Bazaar how she thought becoming a mother might impact her career.

“Fortunately, I feel like we’re in a new era, where it is empowering rather than limiting to have children,” she explained.

“From what I can see from friends and relatives, women get stronger and more decisive from having children, they don’t waste their time doing things they don’t want to.”
