Mother warns parents against Hatchimals bath bombs after daughter suffers chemical burns

The concerned mother has issued a warning to other parents

A mother is warning other parents after she claims her daughter suffered chemical burns from a Hatchimals bath bomb.

Popular among young children, Hatchimals’ range of products includes a bath bomb that reveals an adorable character after it has fully dissolved.

However, one woman is asking parents to think twice before putting the product under the Christmas tree this year after she claims it left her daughter with painful chemical burns.

In a now viral post, which has been shared almost 130,000 times, Jennifer Renee shared an image of her daughter Willow’s hand, which is visibly swollen and enflamed.

A result, she says, of being in the water for just seconds with the bath bomb.

“PSA! Do NOT buy this for your children!” she wrote.

“Thought it would be fun for her because there was a toy inside. After being in the water 30-45 seconds she stated her skin was hurting, upon looking she has received a chemical burn from a KIDS BATH BOMB.”

The concerned mother adds that while Willow has used “multiple different kinds of bath bomb” in the past, she has never experienced this reaction.

After seeing a doctor, Willow was diagnosed with a chemical burn and not an allergic reaction which prompted the mother to update her post by sharing the batch number of the product she used.

“I called the company and the batch number being investigated and is likely going to be recalled as numerous reports have been made (not all the burning reaction she got),” she wrote.

“I am posting this just in hopes people will monitor closely. Everyone loves bath bombs.”

Understandably concerned, the post has since gone viral as parents share the information with friends and family who may have bought one in the run up to Christmas.

“I just bought one of these for my wife’s niece for Christmas, yesterday. Definitely taking it back,” one person wrote.

Another added, “I bought one of these for my son for Christmas. Not going to use it now.

“Thanks so much for sharing and hope your baby girl gets better, that is AWFUL.”
