A new Bioshock game is coming, its developers have announced.
2K Games has set up a new studio to develop the title, which is still "several years" out from development, according to the company.
That probably means that it will not arrive in time for the current generation of games, and will probably be held at least until after the PS5 and new Xbox have been revealed.
There has not been a Bioshock game since 2013, when Bioshock Infinite was released.
The new studio is called Cloud Chamber, and will be headed up by Kelley Gilmore, who becomes the first woman to run a studio in the history of publisher 2K Games. Ms Gilmore has worked for nearly 20 years at another of 2K's studios, Firaxis Games, on games such as Civilisation and Xcom.

2K gave no indication of when the game would arrive, what it might look like, or how far along development was. But it said the next part of the Bioshock series "will be in development for the next several years".
“As we continue growing our product portfolio, we remain inspired by opportunities to invest further in our valuable IP, great people and their collective, long-term potential,” said David Ismailer, president of 2K, in a statement.
“BioShock is one of the most beloved, critically praised and highest-rated franchises of the last console generation. We can’t wait to see where its powerful narrative and iconic, first-person shooter gameplay head in the future with our new studio team at Cloud Chamber leading the charge.”
