Birthdays? Anniversaries? Wednesdays? There's always a reason for cake and ice cream.

And so to celebrate Ben & Jerry's big 4-0, their flavour gurus have combined two of their (and everyone’s?) favourite things: ice cream and cake, in an all-in-one taste-tingling tub.

The ice cream giant's ‘Birthday Cake’ is made up of vanilla cake batter ice cream, pink frosting, strawberry swirls and yummy cake pieces. A total dream for anyone who has a sweet tooth.

The icing on the… ahem, cake, is that all the ingredients are Fairtrade-certified, and the ice cream is made with milk from Caring Dairy family farms.

Flavour guru Catherine Goffinet said: “We love sharing our celebrations here at Ben & Jerry’s, so we decided to create a slice of something extra special. ‘Birthday Cake’ is loaded with everything we love about cake; frosting, strawberry swirl, and moreish mouthfuls of sponge cake pieces too. We think it’s the perfect excuse to celebrate!”
