Proving his fashion versatility, David Beckham has been featured on the cover of the new issue of Love magazine in teal eyeshadow.

The retired football star completed the look with a custom-made white Dior blazer, a striped shirt and his neck tattoos tinted to match his eye makeup for the magazine’s first "moving" image issue.

On a photo of the cover shared to Instagram, the magazine wrote: “From the very first time he set foot on the field, David Beckham knew he wanted to be a football player."

Since sharing the photo of its newest cover star, which has received more than 30,000 likes, the 43-year-old’s makeup look has been met with praise.

“Totally up for Beckham in eyeliner,” one person wrote.

Another commented: “Real men wear eyeshadow - and look hot. The end.”

While posing for the magazine, which included rubbing the brightly coloured eyeliner down his face, Beckham opened up about his football career - and his lack of confidence as a young boy.

“I was always that kid in the corner that didn’t really say much,” he told the magazine. “I knew that once I was on the field, I was confident. It was all I ever wanted - to be a professional footballer.”

In addition to trying out new makeup trends, Beckham is also expanding his horizon when it comes to fashion - with the football star recently announcing a new collaboration between his clothing line and Peaky Blinders.
