Although the seasons haven’t changed just yet, the beauty industry has had a real spring in its step when it comes to this month's launches.

The battle of the mascara continues, as Anastasia Beverly Hills, a brand synonymous with bold eyeshadow palettes and signature eyebrow products, has launched its first mascara, hot on the trail of Fenty Beauty’s January release.

The move to matte make-up has continued, with the return of the liquid-to-matte foundation formula, and Glossier’s matte eyeshadow pens making noise all over Instagram. Sustainability is on the agenda too, with a re-fillable, vegan and cruelty-free fake tan that’s packaged in recycled ocean plastic.

With all that’s going on in the world, we could all do with a distraction from current affairs, and a little pick-me-up in the form of a beauty treat. Whether it’s a new hardworking serum to add to your skincare routine, or a lipstick that makes you feel your best self.

But as always at IndyBest, we’ve tried and tested everything we’ve featured here, making sure we only recommend products that we know, love, and continue to reach for in our make-up bags and skincare shelves.

After testing a range of products that launched this month, here are our favourites.

You can trust our independent reviews. We may earn commission from some of the retailers, but we never allow this to influence selections, which are formed from real-world testing and expert advice. This revenue helps to fund journalism across The Independent.

The verdict: March's beauty launches

For the impressive results after just one wash, our best buy goes to Sol de Janeiro’s new conditioner. It managed to tame our unruly locks and the nourishing ingredients give a long-lasting shine. We’re also seriously impressed by Australian Glow’s fake tan and sustainability credentials.
