Laura Barton is a writer and broadcaster. A contributor to The Independent, The Guardian, Prospect, and Uncut (among many others), she also makes programmes for BBC Radio 4 including the series Laura Barton's Notes from a Musical Island, and Notes on Music. She runs the spoken word stage at Green Man festival, moonlights in A&R, and her next book is a study of sad music, Sad Songs.
