Brooke Baldwin: CNN host delivers emotional address as she returns to air after ‘relentless’ coronavirus
‘Covid-19 gave me a beating physically and mentally’
CNN host Brooke Baldwin delivered an emotional address on Tuesday as she returned to the network after recovering from Covid-19.
Baldwin announced in April that she had tested positive for the coronavirus.
She said on Tuesday that she had to take three weeks off due to the illness, including one to recoup after brutal symptoms including severe body aches, fever, and chills.
“Boy am I glad to be back,” Baldwin told viewers, thanking them for their love and prayers.
She added: “Covid-19 gave me a beating physically and mentally. ...I never knew when it would end.
“It was relentless, and scary, and lonely.
“But I was one of the lucky ones. Thousands of people are sitting in hospitals right now suffering.”
Baldwin explained she was able to go to Central Park recently and see tents that have been installed as a temporary field hospital.
She extended her condolences to those who have lost loved ones to Covid-19 and thanked frontline workers as well as scientists.
In addition to Brooke, CNN’s Chris Cuomo and Richard Quest have also publicly shared their experiences dealing with Covid-19.
