Liam Gallagher denies robbing "Richard & Judy's" or taking a s**t in Gladys' bath
Former Oasis star tweeted a denial after his brother Noel responded to a story in the Sunday Sport on Instagram
Liam Gallagher has denied robbing the home of Richard Madeley after the TV host claimed he and his brother Noel may have been behind a break-in at his home in 1989.
The TV presenter and former This Morning star was discussing Liam’s Godlike Genius win at the NME Awards 2018 on Good Morning Britain when he made the claims.
“Him and his brother used to live quite close to us when we used to live in Manchester,” Madeley said, “and they admitted in the early stages of their career they did a little bit of robbery, a little bit of burglary and we think they did our house.”
He added: “I spoke to them about it, and we spoke about it, it was many years ago and they’ve probably forgotten about it now and they said ‘Yeah I think we did that one yeah, I think we did that one, went in through the window yeah’.”
Noel once joked to Melody Maker: “We have burgled houses and nicked car stereos, and we like girls and swear and take the piss.”
Since the story emerged, a former neighbour named Gladys Tomlinson claimed to be another victim of the Gallaghers' youthful hijinks.
In a new Sunday Sport feature, the Manchester resident alleged that one day in 1989, she came home to find her “knick-knacks and videos” stolen, with the burglars allegedly leaving a s**t in her bathtub.
“They was beyond the pale,” she told the paper. “Pound to a penny that was one of them that shat in the old bath.”
On Instagram, Noel appeared to jokingly respond to the story, writing: “It’s a fair cop guv. We thought it was Richard Madeley’s gaff. Soz Gladys. No offence.”
However Liam has denied being involved in either incident, tweeting on 5 March: ”For the record i never robbed RIchard n Judys and I didn’t do a shit in Gladys bath Berlin is on as you were LG x”
The former Oasis star and now solo artist also got fans worked up yet again by hinting that he and his brother have been spending some family time together - sparking more speculation as to whether an Oasis reunion could take place in 2018.
