Kanye West releases the first trailer for his new IMAX film 'Jesus is King'

Kanye West has announced that his much-delayed album Jesus is King will finally be released on 25 October.

The news was posted to West's Twitter account with an image of the album on blue vinyl.

It is due on the same day that an accompanying documentary is scheduled for release in IMAX cinemas.

Jesus is King was originally announced for release on 27 September by Kim Kardashian-West, who shared the date along with an album tracklist.

However, this was later pushed back to 29 September, but the album never arrived and no explanation was given for the delay.

The weekend the album was due to drop, West held a number of his Sunday Service events and hosted listening parties for the album.

His last album, ye, was released in 2018, as was his Kid Cudi collaboration Kids See Ghosts. Another album, Yandhi, remains indefinitely postponed.
