Matthew McConaughey plays Zoom bingo with nursing home

Matthew McConaughey led a group of elderly citizens in a game of virtual bingo during the coronavirus lockdown.

Residents at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living in Texas were treated to a guest appearance from McConaughey during a bingo game held over Zoom.

The Dallas Buyers Club actor called numbers in the game with the help of his wife Camila, mother Kay and two of his children, as well as answering questions from the players.

In a clip of the call shared on the senior living centre’s Instagram, the Texan is seen enthusiastically throwing himself into the game as he cheers for the winning players.

The team captioned the post: “Ever play virtual bingo with Matthew McConaughey? You’d be a whole lot cooler if you did! The residents at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living got to play virtual bingo with Matthew McConaughey and his family!

“Thank you to Matthew, his wife Camila, and his mom Kay for hosting our residents for a few rounds of virtual bingo! Our residents had a great time playing, and they loved talking with Matthew about his family heritage and his favorite drink.”

Last week, the 50-year-old posted a video message calling for unity amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, asking for people to come together in the fight against the “faceless, raceless, sexless” virus.
